How It All Started

If we look for the origin of the terms entrepreneur, company and undertake we discover that they come from the French and, in vulgar Latin, their meaning is to grab, to catch, to take. In the 13th century, Gonzalo de Berceo was the first to use them as a breeding ground, “the vine is good, he undertook good vine shoots” and how to take “ Sennor, bien te conseio que nada emprendas”.

We are all, innately, stock entrepreneurs as long as we see at some point the chances of winning, even if everything collapses irretrievably and we only have the euro of coffee left. The fear of losing is nothing more than a mask of the fear of winning and, if the entrepreneur discovers himself, he will bet everything on red, on the odd, on owning his life.

I’ve been supporting one of those entrepreneurs for some time, already a successful and experienced entrepreneur. One of those for his relaxation, cultivates a small vegetable garden. I am not surprised by this extra-entrepreneurial passion, but rather by the way he proceeds when he starts a lettuce to provide the daily food: the first thing he does, before washing it, is to plant another one in the hole as a suggestive example of his philosophy of life.

These fearless entrepreneurs are the ones who then fill the press releases in the media about economics and become the true creators of wealth and owners of destiny. They are the creators of sustainable and real employment and not like others, divorced from reality, who propose from Silicon Valley what they call “Gig Economy”.

As Argentine rugby player Pablo Fernandez says, “the impossible is in the minds of the comfortable”. Spain, in each locality, is full of entrepreneurs who make the possible real, we just need to get rid of the complexes.

As an example, Xavier Gabriel, the founder of La Bruja de oro, states that his main enemy is routine (he continues to diversify business with Expedur and Marketing and Advertising Companies) and the last of his ventures is Numbair, a private jets company whose business model does not consist in making them fly but in playing with the currency in different countries.

It is not surprising that he has been nominated as Minister of Finance of Tabarnia. Evident proof of this entrepreneurial strain is the vine shoots, leaves and fruits we need in our economy to revert to the local and extract blue wine like the one created by chance five “millenials”, Gik Live.

Let’s drink blue wine and create our own rules. To be an entrepreneur you don’t need to take a course in cutting and tasting, or go to an Asian Business School, or learn the Bible of the businessman.
